Dear Neighbors,

My name is Lisa, and I am truly honored to have served as your Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC 3/4G-01 since my election in November 2020. Each day in this role is not just a duty; it’s a passion that fuels my commitment to making our neighborhood an even better place for all of us to live, grow, and thrive together.

As a parent, I understand the dreams and hopes we have for our children. My son, Brandon, began his educational journey at a Ward 4 Charter school, and I am a proud Lafayette, Deal, and Jackson-Reed mom. As your Commissioner, I have dedicated myself to the issues that matter most to us—ensuring safe passage for our kids, fighting for improved traffic infrastructure, advocating for pre-k seats, safe streets, and creating a nurturing environment where families can flourish.

But what truly makes our community special is its vibrant diversity. We are a blend of voices, each with unique perspectives that enrich our discussions and decisions. I am committed to listening to every one of you, weighing all viewpoints, and navigating the complexities of our shared concerns with care and compassion. In a landscape where many issues don’t have a clear majority, we need a Commissioner who embodies fairness, accountability, and inclusivity - and I remain committed to doing just that, steering away from the divisiveness that pits our communities against each other.

Together, we can build an even brighter future for our neighborhood, where every voice is heard and valued. I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s continue to work side by side to create a community that not only meets our needs today but also inspires generations to come. I would be honored to have your support for re-election!

"Our Commission has been divided on some issues but in large measure we have operated cooperatively on the most important issues that our community faces on a daily basis: public safety, infrastructure, public transportation, city services, support for our schools, economic development for our small businesses, equality, and DC Statehood. We have been able to function cooperatively in no small measure because of Lisa’s insistence on fairness and giving an opportunity to be heard by all who want to speak without fear or favor. Her vice chairmanship in the 2021-2022 term followed by her chairmanship in our current term has been invaluable in maintaining cohesion and moving the Commission forward productively to address the needs of our community. The message expressed by some that the Commission engages in political gamesmanship or ignores constituent views has no factual foundation and is exactly the kind of a false narrative that has been used to divide rather than unite our community and Commission. As Chair of the Commission, Lisa has always acted objectively to ensure that all views are valued and fairly considered. Importantly as well, Lisa is only the third African American to serve in the history of our Commission. Her voice on issues of justice and equality among others has been indispensable to the work of the Commission. It would be terrible for our community if we were to lose Lisa’s voice on the issues that will be before the Commission next term. Lisa has been a dedicated public servant to our community who has poured her heart and soul into her work on the Commission. Our community and the Commission would be well-served if Lisa were reelected to her seat-3/4G01".  Michael Zeldin (2020-2024), Zach Ferguson (2022-2024), Randy Speck  (2012-2022), Chas Cadwell  (2022), Chris Fromboluti (2002-2006 and 2014-2022), John Higgens  (2020-2022)
